    Default Problem w addon domain

    Hi all,

I bought a domain through name.com yesterday, added it as an addon domain at BH.(I changed the server address to bluhost 1 and 2 instead of name.com) All looked fine so I added Wordpress to it. I know it can take some time for the site to show but there is nothing there. Have I missed something? I'm not totally sure I understand the DNS server thing either, could it have something to do with that?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

See if this thread is any help in understanding DNS servers, particularly the last post.

Thanks, so are you suggesting I try the open DNS Server? Or should it get sorted even if I wait for another day? As it says it won't work through name.com perhap this is the solution?

Sorry for the complete newbie question but I haven't got a clue.

    Thanks.

Even the lousy DNS servers usually catch up with changes after a couple of days. The ones at OpenDNS seem to get changes much more quickly, so I stick with them.

The only regret I have about openDNS is that it overrides Firefox's address bar search feature. When I was using my regular DNS servers, typing anything other then a web address into the address bar (say "pizza") would bring up a standard Google websearch for that keyword. Now, using openDNS, I'm brought to the openDNS-branded Google search which is full of ads. I suppose that's how they pay for the service, but it is a bit annoying.

But of course Firefox gives you a nice little search box to the right of the address bar. It's even better than the address search bar, since you can choose the search engine, or even choose IMDB, Wikipedia, etc., on the fly. Very handy.

The history search in the address bar in Firefox 3 is also a really welcome addition. Nicely done.

Yeah, I really like the new history search.
