Default Log Programs No Longer Updating

I have had both awstats and webalizer enabled since Aug 18. Everything had been working fine, but the programs are no longer updating. They both have the last visit logged as Aug 27, even though it is now Sep 3. My archived raw logs for August also stop on Aug 27. My current log goes from Aug 27-Sep 3.

What has happened to break the analyzers and how do I get them fixed?

My first reaction was that this was a simple case of the awstats problem referred to in the third sticky on the top of this forum, but Webalizer wasn't affected by that one. And if you hadn't done any customizing to awstats (like enabling manual updating), you wouldn't have encountered that problem, in any case.

Sounds like it's time for a call to, or Live Chat with, BH.

    Hi,

I don't have any stats for July and August. I checked the rights for awstats conf file and it has 644.

However, the stats are generated for september, and no data for the two previous months. Someone knows how to get the missing stats?

    TIA,
    Juan

That's a mystery. The hits are recorded in the raw access logs, but I don't know how to get awstats to go back to the logs to regenerate the summary stats.

Well awstats documentation says that you can rename/move the stats of the months after the one you want to generate (or regenerate). In my case, I should move sep stats and awstats should generate Jul, Aug, and Sep again.

However, when I asked BH support they told me this:

The short answer is no. Here is the long answer. When the script runs that copies them to your account the logs are deleted from the server so that they only exist on your account.
Something that is strange. I don't have the logs in my account, and they shouldn't delete the web server logs!
