Default Add-on domain is also maindomain.com/addon??

    Hi all-

I just purchased an add-on domain, and when I point my browser to the domain, I go to maindomain.com/addon. From what I understand, it may take a few days before the browser would display addon.com, correct?

My question is, once everything is straightened with the DNS propagating, will search engines still see maindomain.com/addon? I do NOT want my add-on site to be associated with my main domain in any way, especially in search engine indexing.

    Default

As long as you don't create any links to the folder for the search engines to follow then they wont see it.

Default How to make the Addon Domain folders invisible through the Main Domain

This Helpdesk article gives the code you can use inside public_html/.htacess to make it so the addon folders can't be accessed as subdirectories of your main domain.
