I don't know. I use Bluehost and Dreamhost and I like them both. Don't have much experience with Godaddy.
I've noticed though, some people will have a good experience with a shared host and some will have a bad experience with the exact same host. Sometimes its a user issue, sometimes you just get stuck on a bad machine.
If that's the case and you're having any problems with Godaddy, like speed & reliability issues, it might be a good idea to try a new shared host just to "roll the dice" again and see if you end up on a more stable server machine elsewhere.
Dunno. Starting to feel like I'm rambling.
What issues are you having, what kind of websites do you run, what kind of special features do you need to use?
I'd say the 21st century is a good time to be a writer.
Web Building Blog - College blog - Bluehost Review - Bluehost vs Dreamhost
Godaddy is a Domain Registrar who also does hosting as a side business. Their main business is domain registration and if their hosting has issues then that is a minor concern to them. If their domain registration service has an issue then that gets priority.
BlueHost is a hosting provider who also does domain registration as a side business. If their domain registration has issues then that is a minor concern. If their hosting has an issue then that gets priority.
You are best off therefore to get your domain from GoDaddy and hosting from BlueHost (assuming we are only looking at these two companies and ignoring all the rest).
If you only want to choose one of the two then hosting is the one that needs to have the priority and so BlueHost is the obvious choice of the two.
I was referring to hosting, I am looking for cpanel, free site builder, more than one domain for free. blogs. Just to name a few. Bluehost sounds like a very good deal to me. I have a few issues I have to get taken care of first with Godaddy and with ATT. When I am done with that I will be baccccccck
I switched from GoDaddy to Bluehost:
GoDaddy does NOT let you password protect individual folders, something easily done with Bluehost's very intuitive control panel. I spoke with their tech support, and you can get password generators, placing .htaccess files in folders, but I spent hours trying to configure this and was completely unsuccessful.
Further, i like the fact that you can have multiple websites using one Bluehost account - and mirroring or forwarding all your URLS is easy to set up, while trying to do anything on Go Daddy's control panel was cumbersome - not a user friendly interface - riddled with ads and upgrade options.
What i LIKED about GoDaddy was the ability to create FTP accounts that grant access to only one folder, something I couldn't do with Earthlink, but you CAN do with Bluehost.
