Um, is BlueHost's MySql down right now?
My site acted glitchy for the past hour. Now it's down.
I called BH and there are 22 people waiting in line for TS. Hmmm...
I get this error message:
"Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home2/outyourb/public_html/includes/functions.php on line 7
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)"
I haven't changed any of my structural files. I did update a couple text articles with a few word changes.
Hello? Anyone know what's up? Thanks! --JP

If it is down then it woud be just your server. It is working fine on box186 (which is the server my site is on and therefore the only one I have access to check).

There are over 1000 servers at BH, so there's no such thing as "BlueHost's MySQL." There are 1000 of them.
Check you own server. First stop, http://serverstatus.bluehost.com, plug in your domain name. If it says there's a problem on your server, you can be assured that BH knows about it, and is working on it. Second stop, Control Panel, Service Status (lower left). If you see any red dots, once again, BH is aware of it already.

I've got the same problem!
Got this message after checking my domain in the serverstatus page. I've got no problem since my page is still under construction but It would be a problem if it were.
box445.bluehost.com
Server Load: ok
Services: no known issues: status ok
..... Now its working again!!

Yes, mine is working now also. Whew!
Methinks the 22 waiting for TS was a relevant indicator.
(And please pardon my lack of terminology. I only put content onto a website which was built for me. I don't know much about how it works.)
