    Unhappy Simplescripts free?

I was reading the license agreement of simplescripts, when trying to install zenphoto. And it indicates that there is a charge for the service, but not specifying the details. Can someone clarify what is the cost of using simplescripts?

    Thanks,
    Ming

There is currently no charge for using SimpleScripts. All it does is to automate the install process for a number of open source scripts. The licence conditions appear to make reference to the hosting account you install the script onto and as far as I can tell that is what the references to charges refer to.

    Default Free for Bluehost

On the SimpleScripts.com front page, it shows that anyone can create an account and use the service separate from any hosting company. Diving deeper (under the signup page), it would appear that some web hosts pay for your full account, Bluehost being one of them. So it looks like SimpleScripts is free for Bluehost users.

If that is what is happening then in the case of BlueHost they would be the ones receiving the payments from any other hosting providers for the use of SimpleScripts since they created and run it.

It looks like SimpleScripts is a separate company (SimpleScripts, Inc.)... Perhaps created by Bluehost, but I don't see any other affiliation??

Besides complete ownership, just how much "affiliation" do you need?

In case there's any doubt on this point, Matt Heaton's blog entry about it should make things pretty clear: http://mattheaton.com/?p=134
