Pre-Sales: Add-On Domain limitations, quirks?

I am about to take the BLUEHOST plunge.

Can anyone comment on their experiences with the 'Add-On Domains' within your main account?
What are their limitations?
What are some quirks you may have encountered?

I understand that each Add-On Domain is managed within the one Cpanel interface.

Each Add-On Domain can have several of its 'own' bonafide emails as well and
visitors to a BlueHost'ed Add-On Domain cannot tell that it is 'not its own entity,' (so to speak) right?

I read they brought back the ability to have sub-domains for the Add-On Domains (not sub-sub domains).

I think I also read that an Add-On Domain cannot have its own "esthetically-correct" SSL cert.


I had some concerns about email as well...

I read the following 2 quotes -

I think it would be really beneficial to add an additional form mailer CGI script called Cgiemail.

Cgiemail allows a relative link for the post command URL rather than ‘www.bluehost.com/bluemail’.
It also allows a custom ‘subject’ message for each form, and just like Blue Mail,
allows a form to appear to come from a user’s supplied email address.
However, its best feature is that it allows a webmaster to create a template for how the message is sent.

Also, I agree with Frusis. I didn't know till recently that emails from me, or my company,
would read "bluehost/bluemailbox??" My customers do not need to know about bluehost or what box I'm on.
Could you please fix this as well. Thank you.

Are palmcoastgirl and Frusis referring to when you make use of a BlueHost-provided Webmail service
(or when you use a client like Outlook 2003 or Thunderbird with your BlueHost'ed email accounts)
when mentioning that "bluehost/bluemailbox" was somehow injected into an email?

Could someone please elaborate for additional clarity?

No... that was completely different! Rest assured, your email accounts will function with no reference to BlueHost! E.g. name@domain.com will appear from name@domain.com

We were referring to a form mail system. This involves users entering information into a webpage, then clicking on 'send'. What they submitted is then emailed to a specified email account. BlueHost has blocked the use of cgiemail which does the job far more nicely than their own BlueMail... I really hope they'll reverse that decision.
