    Default Firefox drops images

I know this is probably a Firefox question, but if anyone has an answer, I would appreciate it. My site was created in WebEasy and loaded to Bluehost. From time to time, about five times a day, Firefox will drop about half of the images, retaining the rest. Many Firefox helpers say the answer is to clear the Firefox cache. This works and the images immediately appear. But, it seems like a lame fix, and I worry about visitors to my site that don't know this. IE and Opera are OK.

I use Firefox almost exclusively and I have never encountered this issue. That's not to say it doesn't exist, of course. My only thought would be whether the link to the images on your pages are hard-coded or if they point to a program that then manipulates the image in some fashion, since you stated that you used software to create your site. I don't even know if that's feasible but I know that Wordpress, for example, will take images that you upload and allow you to alter the size for your posts.

My friend uses Fire Fox and he has the sam issue. He'll go o sites and only get half the pictures loaded the rest are broken images. And whe he visits a site like hotels.com it shows a bunch of java scipt, instead of displaying the booking engine. Personally I use IE, and have never had a problem.. Although I hear that theres a big security vunerablility for IE right now.. Don't know how much truth this holds though. So maybe give IE a try? I'm sure you won't have that issue anymore.

The only browser I have ever known to not display images that can be properly displayed in other browsers is Internet Explorer. I have occasionally come across pages where the images display in Firefox, Safari and Opera but not IE. That problem relates to memory issues with the operating system itself.

It wouldn't be possible for OS memory issues to affect any other browser since IE is the only one embedded into the operating system.

The only way in which a standalone browser could be affected in a similar way would be if there was some issue with the cache not expiring files quickly enough and not being big enough to hold all the content of the pages you are visiting. You could try increasing the cache size and reducing the retention period.

One of the first times i hear of a problem with FireFox. It's usually the other way around.

You might want to put a small notice for FireFox users then if you've got no other choice.

I would doubt that it would be all Firefox users, just a small group who have a small cache and a long retention period.

I just visited your site with FireFox and all images were displayed. Perhaps it is just certain users. Your host seems to be slow, perhaps the images time out before they are loaded.

I've been to the site several times off and on since this thread started using Firefox and have had no problems as well.

That looks like a nice, little town by the way!
