Question How do i "mask" domain redirect??

Im trying to create some independent websites that do not show the redirected domain name in the browser. I notice that Go Daddy has a SIMPLE "masking" option to keep the simple domain name in the browser instead of the long link name. How do we do the same here?

If you have a registered domain name for these independent websites, just make them "addon" domains on your BH account, and no redirecting or masking is necessary. For example, if your primary domain is example.com, you can register somethingelse.com, and make it an addon domain on our account. The files for somethingelse.com will then be stored in public_html/somethingelse (you can actually give the subdirectory any name you like, but it defaults to the addon domain name). But anyone pointing a browser to somethingelse.com will never see anything about example.com in the browser address. Only you and BH will know that somethingelse.com is an addon domain on your account, and that the files are stored in a subdirectory of example.com.

Im pretty tired, so i might be missing something that is supposed to make sense.
I have registered the simple domain names that i will be using with BlueHost. For example, one is www.3mhomebusiness.com. This domain name needs to redirect( is redirecting already) to a hop link name with clickbank that is too long. I obviously did not create the hop link/clickbank website but i need that same redirected site to leave my 3mhomebusiness.com in the browser.
Is that what you were referring to? Same thing?
So what exactly do i do? Sorry.

The addon domain name routine works only if you are actually hosting the content here on BH. I'm not sure how to accomplish what you're after - perhaps someone else will check in with some ideas.

hosting the content? GoDaddy has a very simple "masking" option next to the redirect option when domain forwarding to a site with a long link/domain name. Can i not do that same simple thing with Blue Host? I simply want the internet browser for all of my prospects that click on www.3mhomebusiness.com to actually display 3mhomebusiness.com after it forwards to my clickbank hop page link. How do i do that? Do i have to use GoDaddy for my hosting needs from now on? thanks and Merry Christmas!

That sounds more like a domain function than a hosting function.

GoDaddy is primarily a domain registrar which means they have all the fancy features for their domain functions. Their hosting is very much a side business and their hosting control panel is missing many of the features you'd expect from a web host making them one of the worst possible choices for hosting.

BlueHost is primarily a web host which means they have a full featured control panel to look after the web hosting. The domain registration is their side business with minimal features.

For full features for both domain and hosting get your domain from a domain registrar and your hosting from a web host. One or the other will always be limited if you get both from the same provider.

The following combinations list from best to worst where to get what from with BlueHost and Godaddy.

    1. Domain from Godaddy and hosting from BlueHost (gives the best of both the domain and hosting control panels).
    2. Both from BlueHost (gives the best hosting control panel and a minimal domain control panel which is all many need).
    3. Both from Godaddy (the minimal hosting control panel will eliminate this option for anything except the most basic of web sites).
4 Domain from BlueHost and hosting from Godaddy (a totally unworkable solution that would be just about totally unworkable).

Ok! Again, here is where i am at. I appreciate the explanation of how Blue Host and GoDaddy differ. So please tell me how to redirect to the longer link while keeping 3mhomebusiness in the browser space. Is it possible? I simply want to keep my google rankings higher and not confuse my prospects by having the website name change to a longer link in the browser area. Please help. Please say this is possible. I already have the domain name. I already use Blue Host for hosting. How do i proceed with my goal? Thanks

Right now, 3mhomebusiness.com redirects to an affiliate page connected to my clickbank hop link. How do i keep 3mhomebusiness.com in the browser when people type in 3mhomebusiness.com?

BH, as a domain registrar, does not offer the kind of masking you're asking for. I think your only option is to move the domain registration to a registrar who does offer that service (like Godaddy), but keep the nameservers pointed to BH, where your domain is hosted.
