Thread: uploading database and Wordpress site from MAC to Bluehost

Default uploading database and Wordpress site from MAC to Bluehost

I'm a bit new at this and would appreciate your help.

I created a database and Wordpress website on my Mac and it is time to ftp it to Bluehost, but I'm confused about how to do it. Do I create the MySQL database first and then export my database to an swl file and then upload it? Do I need to install Wordpress on Bluehost or do I just ftp my Wordpress files to Bluehost?

    Thanks for helping me out.

FTPing the WordPress files to BlueHost is the bigger part of installing WordPress on BlueHost. The other part is running the install script that is a part of the upload.

All the SimpleScript install for WordPress does is to FTP all the files from wordpress.org to your site and then runs the install script - effectively the same thing but without any customisations you may have made while testing on your computer.

Which of the two is easier depends on how many plugins and themes you installed during testing.
