    Default Microsoft Mail Rejection

Mail from my account on Bluehost is being rejected by Microsoft for addresses at Homail.com and live.co.uk.

    Is this a common problem?

I have sent mail from both Outlook and from a web client on Bluehost with the same results.

I have pinged the mail server at Bluehost and received an address of 66.147.242.86. This is the response I get from Microsoft:

'I understand you believe the IP address of your MX server to be 66.147.242.86, however our investigation does not show there are any connections on IP 66.147.242.86, at this time. In addition there is no historical data that indicates any issues.

In order to continue our investigation we require more information such as: the IP and the Domain or MTA (E-mail Server) you use. The IP you provided us with may not be the correct IP you are sending mail from.

You may get this information from your ISP (Internet Service Provider), which may also provide you with more information with respect to why you are having these issues.'

BH has many, many mail servers, and you can't tell which one sent out your particular message - it could change from one message to the next. The only reliable IP address is the one that appears in the bounce message itself - that tells you which box is on the blacklist.
