If you want to change your Main or Primary domain on your account, we can certainly do so. Your username and password will remain the same and the public_html/ directory will remain intact. Regardless, we strongly recommend you make your own backup of your hosting account of any important files just in case.
To verify, please provide us with an email or fax of the account holder's government-issued photo identification (such as a drivers license or a passport). Please include your main domain name along with your ID. BrookeBluehost.comAccount Verification Departmentsupport-verification@bluehost.com(888) 401-HOST (4678) Option 4Verification Department Hours: Monday - Saturday 8AM-9PM MST
Thank you for verifying your account with BlueHost.Com. You now have full access to your hosting account and related promotions and services.
Because the request for the rename was made after the 3 day period we have to release the domain, we will need to register the domain for the $10 charge. Please confirm you would like to proceed with the change and we will process the rename for you. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us.

This is a user-to-user forum, not a BH support site. No one here can do anything about the problem you're having. But generally, once you've registered a domain, you can't change it without paying to register the new domain. Pay the $10, and get on with your life.

The fee for registering a different domain would be totally outside of BlueHost's control because they are required to follow the same rules on registering a domain as everyone else is and once you have registered the name that is it - you can't change it, you can only register another domain. You can't assume any grace time at all for changing it if you make a mistake so it is your responsibility to get it right in the first place. That BlueHost has a grace period in which it can be corrected at all means that they are going above and beyond what is required. That your grace period corresponded to a period in which their staff were away and not able to complete the request within the grace period is due to your timing on when you decided to register in the first place.
