Thread: Site to Site Transfer?

    Default Site to Site Transfer?

Flash FXP (FTP client) allows you to transfer between ftp sites. I think the host has to have this enabled because I don't seem to be able to do it with BlueHost. I've even tried it between 2 BlueHost packages.

It would save a lot on bandwidth usage and time.

    Anyone know much about this?

You could just set all the files on your old site to plain text and have your new site download them all into the appropriate file paths.

I created a tar file at my old host, then used SSH to access my BH account and did a wget http://oldhost.com/name_of_tar.tgz and let it download that way. Untarr'd once I had it transferred.
