wysiwyg PHP/SQL?
Hello there. I have a general question about php and data bases.
Does bluehost offer a wysiwyg kind of app that could hold my hand and be used for form validation, submission, and storage/retrieval. Meaning, is there an app that writes the clean, working php, sql, etc. code for me? Or, as a newbie designer am I going to have to learn some programming first, in order to get a contact form to work?
I've done quite a bit of reading in the last few weeks, only to find that the rabbit hole goes deeper and deeper. I'm scared and I have no one to hold me.

What kind of contact form are you looking for?
Just a basic contact form that sends the email to your desired destination?

The form would be fairly standard (first name, last name, email address, subject, comments).
From what I understand, there is a lot involved in just a standard form like this.
Validation (front end + backend), session/cookie, database storage and retrieval.
It would be great if there were 1 app that took care of these things for you without having to know programming.
Maybe there is, I just haven't found it yet.

Okay.. I dont do any kind of forms that interact with a database.. but check out http://www.orangea-peel.com/index.ph...contactbanners
if that's all you need then I can help you out.. It simply sends the email to the email you wish, with a set title , subject and welcome msg.

Ok Skrilla. Thanks for the quick reply. I am only interested as to whether blue host offers an app that takes care of that stuff for it's customers. I'm not looking outside of blue host at the moment.

Nothing like that on BH, I'm afraid. There are only the script installers listed in SimpleScripts and Fantastico, and, as with most hosts, a "page wizard" that produces awful, unmaintainable, uncustomizable HTML.

Thanks Early Out. I looked into the php Form Generator and it looks like I may just use that.
I must say, that it would be nice if Blue Host would include more information on setting up and using php in their documentation. For instance, protecting the ini file. It would sure help a lot of us beginners to programming.
