    Default Question about Transferring Domains

How can I transfer my existing website, set up through blogspot.com, to my new website through blue host?

I don't believe you can download your content created at blogspot.com. Rather, I think what you have to do is point your domain name to your blogspot.com address. The following URL should have the info you're after: http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.p...n&answer=55373. You'll need to contact Bluehost to have them make the CNAME change. You can do that here: http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/index.php/contact.

    Hope this helps!

If you're only using bluehost for your domain hosting you're better off going with a company like http://dyndns.com/ The difference is that you pay 6.95/month with bluehost to use Bandwidth and store Files on BH servers. if all you're doing is creating a cName record on your domain name and you don't need any bandwidth or file storage (which would be the case if everything was pointed at blogger), you don't need a full webhost, you just need dns hosting..

    The price difference is vast..
Dyndns custom domain hosting is ~27/yr..

Then again, if you want to do more than your one website, or want email, or have things relating to files then you'll need something like bluehost to store files..

BTW: Not trying to turn you away or anything, just letting you know what is out there .. We are happy to have you in the BH community.

On the other hand, if you actually want to host a blog here at BH, you could install WordPress on your BH account, and import the content of your Blogger account. I believe WP has a built-in tool to do this. It does mean learning new blogging software, of course - there is no way to run the Blogger software on your BH account.

and if you do switch to running WordPress on BlueHost (or any other hosting) then you have a lot more flexibility with how your blog looks and works since it is all then under your control. Just a matter of finding the right theme and plugins (or creating them or having them created for you).

or you could import your FTP info into Blogger and customize your blogger template so that all your blogs reside on your domain...
