Default Is BlueHost any Good Web Host for Hosting Forums Using PHPBB or vBulletin?

    Hi,

Please take a look at: http://www.threehosts.com/reviews/1st

There you can find many good reasons to be convinced that Bluehost is a reliable service to get your website online. They claim that Bluehost is a reliable web host to get your forum online. Since I haven't used this service before, I want to know if there is anybody who has prior experience with this serviec.

To put in a nutshell, do you recommend Bluehost as a good forum hosting to get your message board online? Specially I want to use PHPBB to set up my forum.

    Thanks

Bluehost and Hostmonster (the same company) are hosting over 1.5 million domains. If they weren't good, do you think they'd have that many customers?

phpBB will run just fine here. vBulletin, however, is a resource hog, and may not be a good choice for any shared host (this forum is running on a dedicated server).

One thing that I've seen forum owners run into is that they aren't aware of the outbound e-mail limits. The default is 150 e-mails per hour. You can increase that to 750 e-mails per hour by talking to support, but for some large forums that make use of the e-mail features of the forum software, that still isn't enough. If you want to e-mail your members, and have e-mail notification enabled, you may run into that issue.

Honestly, the best thing he could do is leave email feature off and just us Private Messages (PMs) and have email optionable to where a person has to request it or something. I hate when people email me from forums, as you already get notified from the PMs to your email anyways if you have it set to notify you. Do it that way to ensure they come back to see.
