Moving entire site to different domain

If anyone has some advice for me on the best way to do the following, I'd appreciate it.

I have domain www.domain1.com, where I host a blog on Wordpress.

I have domain www.domain2.com, where I want to have the blog moved to.

I currently have it set up so www.domain2.com points to www.domain1.com, and the user is redirected there, and www.domain1.com will show in the address bar. I did this with a temporary redirect from cpanel.

I want the address for my blog to be changed to www.domain2.com now.

Is there an easy way to do this, or will have to create a new WordPress installation on www.domain2.com (after removing the redirect of course), and then transfer my blog information over?

If that is indeed what I'll have to do, then is there a guide for doing this somewhere, or does anyone have any tips?

You didn't say which domain is the primary and which an add-on.

If they are both add-ons then simply delete and re-add both domains so the domain you want points to the folder containing WordPress and the other points to somewhere else. You also need to update the settings in WordPress to change the name of the domain that Wordpress is using.

If the one you currently have the WordPress on is an add-on and the one you want it to be is the primary then simply point the other domain elsewhere and update the settings in WordPress to change the name of the domain that Wordpress is using. That should automatically direct the domain to the right folder.

Only if the current domain is the primary and you have WordPress installed directly in public_html do you need to consider shifting where the script is installed. The simplest way is to remove the redirect, install WordPress into the folder for the add-on you want to point to WordPress using the same database info as the original install (which will get if =functioning correctly on the new domain) and then clean out the WordPress files from public_html.

There is no situation where you need to change anything with your data since the database is separate from the folders where the domains point anyway.
