Default General question about SSL mail

I have setup one of the mail accounts on one of my domains as SSL with Thunderbird here on my laptop. It works OK. I also have Roundcube setup under this same domain. Two questions:

    1. If I bring this laptop someplace with public Wifi, and access this SSL mail account with Thunderbird, it's pretty secure?

    2. Accessing this mail account via Roundcube in the browser will not be secure? (because Roundcube is not getting it via https)

Any additional security you can use with public WiFi is advisable. BlueHost also defines a couple of ways to use SSL with webmail: http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/index.p...article/000158
Breathe slowly and count to ten. If you still feel like shooting your computer, maybe you should switch to Linux. And then learn to count to twenty.

Well, aside from the webmail https login, my primary concern.. is the SSL Popmail w T-bird secure?

OK, from what I can find it looks like popmail+SSL+T-bird is fairly secure.

MrDelish, thanks for that heads up in the BH help section. But when I goto https://yourdomainname.com:2096 I get the https connection in Firefox, but it takes me to that screen where you must choose between Horde/Squirell/Roundcube. Anyway to make it go directly to Roundcube which I've installed (via Simplescipts) under mydomain.com/email ??
