Default Trying to password protect an admin folder...

When I got to 'Password Protect Directories', it gives me a warning:

Due to Frontpage Extensions currently being installed and enabled, password protected directories will not work. If you wish to use this feature instead of Frontpage, please disable the Frontpage extensions.

You can use Frontpage directly to create password protected directories just like you normally can here. Alternatively, you can disable frontpage extensions and still use Frontpage to publish the site design via Webdav or FTP.
What should I do? I am a total newbie at this.

Personally speaking I'd disable FP extensions and take it from there.

Oh yes and I'd use a Secure Shell program (something like WinSCP) to upload rather than regular FTP which sends your account name and password in plain text, thereby making it easy for a hacker to eavesdrop. Secure Shell programs (like SCP) encrypt everything, user ID, password as well as data while being transmitted.

I am sure others will have different recommendations... Each to his own...

How can I disable FP extensions? It doesn't give me a button to disable it or anything...

Give support a shout using the Live Chat button on their Home Page

Use the option for cPanel Support/Issues. They should be able to straighten you out in short order.
