outgoing e-mail limitations
is there a cap on the number of emails that can be sent from an email address per hour/day? My client is trying to bulk email about 50 people and about 12 of them get bounced back with an error. ideas?

The limit is 50 messages per account, per hour. That's not per email address - it's per account.
But what is the error message? It could be some other problem.

Just call Bluehost, They can increase it to 500 per hour per domain.

Why so low? I would have thought e-mails were pretty light in terms of network traffic and all that (bear in mind I'm just a teen geek, I've never worked in a datacentre).

It's not the server load they're worried about. If a place like Bluehost becomes a haven for spammers, its mail servers will end up on every blacklist out there, and outgoing mail won't be able to move. So, they take a very tough line, to keep that from ever happening. Granted, 50 per hour is still way lower than "spammer territory," but it sets the tone. You can get it increased, but you'll need to explain why you need more than that.

Understood.
I've got no use for it, I just use my site to backup my files and host the odd thing, I was just wondering.
