Configuring IMAP on Mail.app (OSX)
I have setup my account on Mail.app and can receive and send emails with no problem. Only send mail isn't saved in the send mail folder and deleted mail isn't saved in the deleted folder.
On top of that: when I try to read my mail via webmail (squirrelmail or horde) it cannot find the server...
Any help?

I've read this thread btw (http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/kb/inde...od_id=2&id=277) and set my outgoing port to 26, but it doesn't help... Seems to me not alot of users here use mac osx.
Any clues?

ok, I solved both issues. I noticed that the send/draft/trash etc folders weren't created yet and created them manually.
Also I figured out you can access webmail through mydomain.com/webmail.
Thanks anyway

If you only have one account set up in Mail.app, you might have some trouble with the IMAP folders (e.g. sent emails not going to Sent folder automatically or drafts not saved into Drafts folder giving you an error).
What you have to do is, after creating the folders on the IMAP server, define each folder by doing the following:
1) highlight one of the folders you created, for example Drafts.
2) select "Mailbox" from the menu bar and scroll down to "Use This Mailbox For >"
3) then select what you want the currently high-lit folder to be used for, for example "Drafts".
4) repeat the following for the other folders like: Sent, Trash, Junk, etc...
Hope that helps!

One more step may be necessary
I also had problems with mail.app and IMAP.
I used squirrel mail to solve the problem. You may find after doing the steps identified earlier in this thread you need to save a message in to each folder and then synchronize folders from mail.app. Once i did this my sent emails in mail.app got saved to the server successfully.
More information is detailed in my blog here:
