hello everyone just wanted to know how i can get my site in some of the major (browsers)??? if that is correct,i`m new to this site building and i`m trying to draw more people to my site i manufacture boats and have been for 10 years, the web is becoming a very strong tool as the old way of dragging a boat around to show dealers is falling to the waste side.i`m still in the process of building my site making changes everyday. any input would be much appreciated thank you------craig

A browser is just a piece of software on a PC or Mac, like Internet Explorer or Firefox. What you're looking for is called "search engine optimization," or SEO. Search for that on these forums (and on the web, generally), and you'll find a small mountain of bewildering information!

Pretty much the only way on a basic web site is to make sure you have meta tags filled out properly. Proper Keyword density and description is very important. You only want your meta description to be only so many characters. I think it is like 200 if I remember correctly. You also don't want to overdue your keywords. Other then that make sure you have enough vaulable content on your site for spiders to crawl and index then just site back and wait.

Their are several sites that will teach you and tell you if your mata tags are set up properly. Just do a serch for them on google.

One thing I have noticed is that your titles are not filed out on each page. I would fill those out.

On your index.html replace the head section with this one, Replace the caps in META NAME="keywords" and META NAME="description" with your on info.

Hi Boatman,

just some additional pieces of info..
after you update your keywords fromt the template that was supplied to put into the <head> part of your pages, be sure to include some of those keywords, which should also be on your website for people to see, in your TITLE also (which has ''outerbank boats" now). You'll want to use words people may be searching for like, buy a boat, boats for sale, boat builders, etc. So your title could be "Custom Boats for sale by Outerbank Boats" (just an example)

also, your 'mailto' link at the bottom has a 'www' in it. the 'www' is for actual websites, not email addresses. Just remove the 'www.' and you'll be fine.

Once your indexed you'll notice that the 'mailto' links will be 'harvested' by bots who will eventually start sending you a ton of spam. An easy solution is to use a graphic that has your email address (so no text is visible to the bots), use a 'contact' form which is pretty easy to use and set up with Bluehost.
If you use a graphic, make sure not to include the 'mailto' tag to the graphic, as the bots will still pick it up.
IF you must use a mailto link, I would replace your bellsouth.net email with something@stingerboatssc.com and then create a forward to your bellsouth email address in your control panel under MAIL/ forwards. (i.e. boatbuilder@stingerboatssc.com forwards to stingerboats@bellsouth.net)

This way if you get some spam, you have control to erase the 'forward' or send it to ":fail:" or ":bounce:" and add another forward from another email address you set up to your bellsouth one.. Much easier to do with your account, than to change your bellsouth email addy.
The contact forms are the easiest to do, and will cut out alot of spam.

Also, before i go, I would block these usernames from receiving email (if they get spammed a lot).. info@stingerboatssc.com , sales@, contact, admin, webmaster, website. These are the most common ones the spammers send to once you register a domain without the privacy feature.

hope some of this helps. i'm sure someone else will correct me if i'm wrong about any of the info i provided.
