Thread: hosting wordpress with domains from another registrar

Post hosting wordpress with domains from another registrar

I am a bit confused as to how to properly host my wordpress site.

I have done the quick install of wordpress in bluehost control panel and have two domains registered with another company. I have pointed the nameservers from my domain registrar to bluehost rather than wordpress which I assume is correct. However, my site is not showing up.

I simply want my two domain names to direct me to the blog I have uploaded on my control panel being hosted by bluehost, but I am not having much luck...

Thanks kindly for any help with this matter

I should add, I did not use domain mapping in wordpress, I assume this is not needed if I point my domain nameservers to bluehost where the wordpress blog is located?

Actually it is working for me, assuming it is your username. You probably just have to clear the cache in your browser to see it. A traceroute shows both names going to Bluehost.

Thanks for your help, I will try clearing the cache, I was assured by my registrar company this may be the case as well, so thanks!

Hi, I was able to see my website on another computer belonging to a friend. I have tried clearing the cache and history of my browser but still I cannot access my site. Is there an alternative to accessing this on my computer? I use mozilla firefox...

It sounds like the DNS is being cached somewhere, either on your computer or on your device(s) that connect you to the internet.

If you are using Windows then this command from a DOS Prompt should do the trick --> ipconfig /flushdns (There is a space after the word ipconfig)

If that doesn't do it then maybe restarting your internet equipment will take care of it.
