A Real Mess
I should have called myself wannabewise.
I don't know where to start here. I have had a hosting plan for some time without a site. I thought it would be easy but I am stumped at every turn. At this point I think I have a real mess with all the fiddling I have done. In fact I wish there were a reset button to start all over. Currently I have nothing posted and if I try to view my website, thewayofaneagle.com, it says:
MySQL error!
Error establishing a database connection!
(Access denied for user 'thewayof_bvlt1'@'localhost' (using password: YES))
1. Are you sure you have typed the correct user/password?
2. Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
3. Are you sure that the database server is running?
Is there a way back to the beginning?

I believe customer service can do a complete reset of your account but I think you will lose everything, so make sure you have backups of what you want to keep. I would give customer service a call or open a ticket with them.

Thanks bboysteele I will give that a try. There is really nothing I did that I want to save at this point only the original files that I started with. Have a good day.

No problem, Eaglewise. You have a good day yourself and good luck!

Thank you Reichling for your suggestion. It is not uncommon for me to rush to get somewhere only to ask myself where am I and how did I get here. I am interested in your suggestion but I have a concern. When I first started to set up my site I installed fantastico and b2 and after that I was lost. Now that I have had my account reset I don't want to end up in the same place asking the same questions. Actually as I was writing that it occurred to me that maybe what I should do is search the forums to better understand these programs before I try to use them. Have a great day and thanks again. You may have given me the direction I needed.

Info sources
For specific programs like Joomla, SMF, etc., I have found that the best source of info is in the program site's documentation and support forums. The only real useful info I have found here regarding installation and setup were solutions to some very specific and unusuall problems unique to the bluehost environment.
Also, a level of familiarity with HTML, XHTML, PHP, CSS, SQL, and JavaScript can make a huge difference in your ability to install, modify, and troubleshoot your applications.
Good luck!

Thanks JoeP. I am beginning to think I can do this with a little help along the way. I will go to Joomla's site.
