Default How do I install wordpress to multiple domains??

Hi all, I have several addon domains in my bluehost account where I want to install wordpress. I installed it for the first domain with just fine. The problem is that when I try to install wordpress to a new addon domain, it simply overwrites all the files in the first domain. Basically, I'm unable to have a separate wordpress account for each of my domains. It seems that there's just one account and that's it. I just don't get it. I've looked various directories with no luck. Anyone know what's going on? What am I doing wrong??

When you install a package - any package - to an addon domain, select the domain you want with the drop-down. Make sure the path is correct for where you want it to go. Add-on domains exist under public_html in their own folder, and access to the add-on from the web is managed by Bluehost and transparent to you.

    For example - add-on - http://www.addon.com - not http://www.primary.com/addon

    Thumbs up

Have you considered doing a wordpress multi-site installation?

Here is one among many threads in wordpress.org (and in the codex) that tell how to do it on a bluehost.

It works! Although they are not all "live" yet, I have three multisite installations in separated folders under public_html, and two older single-site wp installations that will eventually get ported into one of the multisite installs.

You can have the sub domain names in at least three different formats as far as url goes.

    sub.root.com
    root.com/sub
root.com and sub.com separate (requires a domain mapping plugin for wordpress)
