Default Does changing host effect ranking?

I am very new to using the web for business development but am learning.
I sell an unusual item (ski pulks) and have had pretty good success due to a high Google ranking that I built up at my old site host. (I am sure most of my success was due to the unusal nature of the business rather than my efforts.)

I swithced to Blue Host and while my major key words "Ski Pulk" are still ranked highly - my other key words "mountaineering sled" and "gear sled" have gone form #1 listigns in Google to being totally lost.

Does switching hosts put me into the sandbox or are there other reasons. My URL has stayed the same.

    Other relevant info.
-My old site was a long one pager- now I have 5 linked pages
-I made the mistake of omitting meta tags key words and titles for a week when I first started on Blue Host
    - My No. 1 ranking on these other key words came slowly at my old host. The only thing I did to bring them higher was meta tag keywords and occaisional mention in the site text.

I dont understand search engines enough to understand why switching the host effected my rankings so drastically on some key words but not on others

    Thanks- ED (the site www.skipulk.com)
