    Default Email and Folders

First let me say I am new to BlueHost (today) and new to using a commercial web hosting service. While I've got a solid 30 years technology experience a lot of the tools and functions here are new to me.

One of the things I looked for in a hosting service was IMAP email capability. I want to be able to look at the same mail on my desktop in my home office, my laptop when I am on the road, and (soon) my phone/PDA.

I would like to be able to use subfolders in IMAP email, but it seems I can't do that - is this a service restriction?

Also, what is the difference between the three webmail clients? I created a subfolder in one but didn't seem to be able to see it anywhere else. Do they use different folder structures?

    Thanks from the newbie

    John H.

    To see folders:

    Neomail:

In the top left, there will be dropdown to select the folder.

    Horde:

After hitting the + next to "mail", you will see the folders

    Squirrelmail:

this one is a bit annoying. Go to the "folders" link at the top, then in the bottom right, click on the folder in the list. Then hit the "subscribe" button.

    Outlook express:

Setting it up as imap, then going to the username@domain.com link in the left window, you are asked if you want to get a list of available folders. Hit yes. you then select which folders.

    To create:

    Neomail:

Hit the folder icon at the top. Then add the name in the text box, and hit add.

    Horde:

Hit the folder icon at the top. At the "Choose action:" drop down, choose "create folder".

    Squirrelmail:

Go to the "folders" link at the top, fill out the text field under "Create Folder" then hit create.

    Default Thanks

    Thanks Felippe.

I'm actually using Outlook 2003. If I right-click on the Inbox there is an IMAP menu item that takes me to a dialog box where I can select the folders.

I can see the "high-level" folders, i.e., same level as InBox, but I can't see a subfolder (of InBox) that I created through Horde.

    Thanks again

    John H.
