    Default Best PHP IDE

I have had a little trouble finding a good PHP IDE. I have used DEV-PHP but the parser is a pain in the neck to set up. I used XPHP and although it didnt have nearly as much features DEV-PHP. I am begginning to like XPHP because i dont have to keep uploading stuff to my test directory.

Can someone please tell me what the best PHP IDE/Debuger is?

Personaly I use PHP Designer 2007 it has a lot of cool things. Like a list of varibles used in the script and other stuff. Plus it does java, html, xml, javascript, VBscript, Perl, C#, Python, Ruby. But for most of that is only sytax coloring. Best thing is it is free. http://www.mpsoftware.dk/phpdesigner.php

I will try it out. I just need something with a god debugger. ****it i still cant find a good debuger.....

Dreamweaver is the only program that has a half decent debugger and that is cause it can doesnt require you to install PHP. If i just wanted a script editor i would use dev PHP editor or notepad++. I guess il just have to keep constantly uploading my scripts to debug them .

Wow, thanks for the tip. I've been using EditPlus so far, but this seems very interesting, especially since it's free.

    In their own words...
Eclipse is an open source community whose projects are focused on providing an extensible development platform and application frameworks for building software.
    http://www.eclipse.org/
It is an IDE with MANY extensions and capabilities. It is something you would run on your own machine as a development environment.
It's definitely worth a look! I have mine set up with extensions for php, javascript, xml, xhtml, subversion, bugzillia, ruby, rails, and soon... Ajax (check out their Ajax Toolkit Framework http://www.eclipse.org/atf/. It also supports Java, C, C++, as well as other process oriented development tools.

    Have fun!
