    Default org.uk registration?

I'm ready to sign up for a bluehost account, but I want a .org.uk registration. Is that only possible with UK based servers?

The servers are all USA based but that makes no difference, I have .co.uk and .me.uk and .biz as well so I think you will be ok but better check with support to make 100% sure

ta for that. I did check. They don't register .uk domains, but will transfer them...

You UK based? How's your experience of using bh, esp regards things like FTP transfer speeds, support w the time difference, etc? Anything noteworthy pro or con?

I have been with Bluehost for more than a year now and I have had very few problems. I have found the service first class and would recommend Bluehost without hesitation. Being in the UK makes no difference.

There are a lot of really bad hosting companies around I had three hosts before this, all of them very poor. As with any shared hosting environment you will run into some problems but they are acceptable, and support will normally fix them quickly.

I am UK based with several .co.uk sites and sub-domains hosted on Bluehost.

They are generally OK - but yesterday loading speeds were dreadful.

FTP speeds are a joke. BH cap them. I usually get about 4kB/s when transfering files. On an 8MB/s line it is very frustrating - especially when support tell me that the best way to transfer large email attachments to and from clients is by ftp!

Not sure that's true any more... I've just FTP'd a file over from the UK and it went out at 25kB/s (max on my ADSL) and came back at 76kB/s!
