    Default email account for wordpress 2.0.4

    Don't know where problem is -- wordpress or bluehost settings, but wordpress forum is practically lifeless -- not even answers from people who don't know -- so I will try here -- where ALL answers are good answers .
    Have wordpress set to notify me when comments are recieved. Not sure of that address, since wordpress forum . . . etc.
    Trying to set up POP3 bluehost account for Outlook 2003 sp 2. Used set up wizard from bluehost. Said it worked. Can't prove it by me - no new account shows in my Outlook.
    Set up manually, apparently not correctly. "Test Message" fails "send test message fails. Setup email address."
    Near as I can tell, the email address is correct. It is USERNAME@DOMAIN.com.
    NOTE: wordpress is NOT involved in this test, just Outlook and Bluehost.
    Thanks for help. If anyone can help with the wordpress end, please do, but I'll be happy to get the bluehost account going first.

    Who would believe it? Part of the problem was me.
    Now, I think the problem is elsewhere.
    I have "successfully" created an email account. Using the "wizard" supplied for Outlook 2003, the account now appears in my Outlook program.
    The "test account settings" now works, showing I have successfully set up the account.
    PROBLEM IS: I send the test messages. I sent my own version of test messages. None are returned showing incorrect address or anything like that.
    BUT: I check via Outlook for messages and NADA -- no errors or anything, just the result that no mail is there -- and we all know that is not correct -- don't we?
    I see from other posts there may be server delays. Is this the problem? Will it be fixed?

    What a terrific place to have a conversation with myself. I hope others enjoy it as much as I do.
    Sorry, too late to join in now. I've solved the problem with telephone call(s) to bluehost support. BTW, a very good bunch of people -- none from New Delhi as far as I can tell.
    There is still time to chip in with your 2 cents if you can answer the Word Press part of the problem. That forum responses are way short of this one -- even with me doing all the talking here.
    Thanks for "thinking about" solutions to my problem. Maybe that did the trick.
