Unhappy htaccess not working with Chrome

I apologize if this has already been dealt with here; I spent an hour searching and came up empty.

I have a simple .htaccess file controlling access to a folder. It works perfectly in Firefox, Safari and IE and produces the username/password dialog as it should. Been working for years.

Today a user complained that it doesn't work with Chrome.

Yep; when using Chrome, I get no dialog box; instead I get this message: [an error occurred while processing this directive] back from the browser. I suspect it's a setting in Chrome but can't find anything there. BTW the .htaccess file was generated here on the BlueHost control panel.

You can try it yourself; in Chrome, go to www.hunterscrossing.net and click the "Neighborhood Directory" tab. Try another browser and you'll see it works fine.

    Any ideas?

If possible, post the .htaccess code here

If you actually want forum members to help you resolve the issue, you'll have to post the .htaccess code here. That way, we can check to see if it's properly configured or not.
