    Default ok, post needed?

Hi, I've been here at BH for about a year, but just registered for the forum last night because I had a question. For some reason I can't seem to post or update my profile.

I understnad the restrictions on having to post a number of times before some functions of the forum are available, but I seem to be having problems just posting a new thread to the advanced scripting forum. I keep getting a Forbidden You don't have permission to access /newthread.php on this server.

My account seems to be OK, but I can't edit anything related to it at all. I can't seem to post to the Advanced Scripting section, and I'm not sure if this will post or not, but it's worth a shot.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

And just to follow up with the obvious, yes I can post here. Is the advanced scripting area restricted until I reach whatever post count?

    thanks,

Not that I'm aware of. I'll flag this thread to the forum admin so that he can check it out.

    Thanks Bob, I appreciate it.

I tested again, not sure if maybe because I was using a CODE tag or something else was triggering it as spam. Or just having to create a post somewhere would allow me to post there, but no dice. But the no permission error made me wonder if something went wrong in my aco**** creation.

I double checked, at the bottom of the posts it says I can post replies, new threads but not add attachments or edit posts.

I don't recall seeing any posts from you being in moderation for spamming. The CODE tag itself won't do that.

If I'm not mistaken, attachments are disabled for all members.

Editing is only available for your own posts and is only enabled for a short time after you've first posted them. (That keeps people from getting around moderation by editing links into their older posts.)

Thanks again Bob. I'm not sure why, it seems the code tag might have been the issue.

I posted without including the code (or the code tag), then just put a separate reply containing the code (again without the code tag) and it worked, so I may try next time with the same tags and see if it works, or maybe it was something in my session, no telling.

    But thanks for your help.
