noobish question about javascript libraries
Hi,
I have some scientific programming background and I want to do some data viz; specifically, I want to learn d3.js. I also decided that I'd like to have a site and blog, so I did the Wordpress simplescript install. I now have basic understanding of HTML and CSS, but I haven't really gotten to javascript yet. But I'd still like to start learning how to be able to display the d3.js graphics in my posts.
I see that Wordpress comes with several javascript libraries, such as jquery. All of the d3 tutorials I have been reading assume a local browser. My question is this: do I simply use the file manager to upload this d3.js library? Generally, what is the procedure for using a javascript library that didn't come with the simplescript Wordpress install?
Thanks very much for any help. I realize I am probably coming at this completely orthogonally, but I don't even know enough yet to ask the right questions, I think.
