    Default Domain Registrar reccommendations

Without naming names… On Monday morning my registrar migrated my account to a new control panel. I never had any problems before this change. It’s been 4 days now since all my domains except 3 have stopped resolving to their particular URLs. I have called them and I have a support ticket about this problem but still 4 days and waiting for an answer. It seems that their URL forwarding does not work and they don’t know how to fix it. I did everything I could do on my end like updating the nameservers and making sure the URL destination is correct but still have lost the use of my websites.

I am considering moving my domains registration to a different registrar and I am asking the users here for recommendations of reasonable priced and good registrars. I’ve been with Blue Host a long time and I am very satisfied with the hosting services provided.

Please remove this post if it does not meet the guidelines here. Thanks.

I have most of my domains registered at Bluehost. Lately, though, I've started using NameCheap.

Bob, thanks for the prompt reply and for the suggestions. I will look into both.

I have hundreds of domains across various registrars: Godaddy, dynadot and moniker.

Godaddy is the most popular domain registrar on earth because it's cheap (sometimes really cheap with ... and easy to use and it's relatively secure. What I hate about them is their ads and promotions splashed everywhere on the site across the entire process when you try to register a new name. And the problem with all big corporate is, they bully users. Customer support sucks.

Dynadot is a small registar that's really easy to use and a breeze to manage your domains. But they are not as secure as Godaddy and moniker. Customer support is good.

Moniker is the most secure in the 3. It's relatively easy to use and most name pros use it for their premium domains. But the customer support is just average.

I've also registered a name at Register.com. For God sakes, ... avoid them at all costs[/URL].
