    Default Domain Transfer - Auth-Code

    I need help!
I just initiated a transfer a domain from bluehost to a new registrar.
I did receive the email where it gives me a link and a long password.
I visited the link and it is asking for the password (which i have) and Domain Auth-Code (which i dont have yet). It also mentions that i should get the Domain Auth-Code from current registrar (Bluehost). But i don't know where to get it from? Which menu/control panel.

My new registrar lets me view the existing Auth-Code from the control panel menu.

following is the message i get from the link:
"You will need to enter the Password contained in the confirmation email to the column below to proceed. You will also need to enter the correct Auth-Code for this domain. The auth-code can be obtained from the current registrar of the domain name."

    Please help!
    Nawed.

When I transfered mine I had to submit a ticket and then I was sent the auth-code.

    Hope that helps.

This may sound like a totally irrelevant question but...

...why would somebody come to a BH user group for help moving away from BH?

Just seemed a little odd. Yes, you'd have to contact BH support.

They are not moving away from BH, just registering their domain somewhere else. I don't find that strange at all as a lot of people do it as it is sometimes cheaper and better to use an outside domain reg like GoDaddy. I do the same thing and have found my sites that use godaddy or other domain reg. seem to get better ranking in search engines. Don't ask me why it is or how that happens but it just does.

    Default Domain name transfer time

Rather then opening a new thread for my question I'll just post it here.

I initated a transfer last Monday and I put the Auth Code in (Bluehost said it was a good code) and the domain name is unlocked. Homestead said the domain name transfer would proceed to Bluehost Saturday at around 9PM. I went to cpanel and then to "Manage Domains" to check on it and it still says step 3/4 "Awaiting release from losing registar. Under that is has a staus that says "Pending Losing Registar Approval". The e-mail I got from Homestead said I didn't have to do anything as long as I didn't cancel the transfer it would go through automatically.

Does it take a couple of days for Bluehost to complete the transfer or should I ask homestead if the transfer did indead go through?

i am trying to leave a crap host to get to bluehost. the domain is registered through tucows. the clowns at the old host cannot give me the password to change the domain to point to bluehost. they have "released" the domain for me. i have opened a ticket with tucows, but have not heard anything yet.

how should i chase this further to get my site up and running? any suggestions welcome!
