i am having some problems connecting php script to mysql database. Is there something on this server with MySQL that needs to be adjusted differently than usual, use different database names, usernames, localhost??

The database name needs to have your login name, usually eight letters, followed by an underscore, preceeding the database name

it is because other control panels dont request you to do that
