Default 301 redirect does not work

    Hi,

I have a bluehost account and have tried to set up a 301 redirect through the .htaccess and it does not work, the page hangs

I also used the cpanel redirect feature and the page never redirects

both domains are on the same server

Can anyone explain why this feature does not work on bluehost?

    Thank you!

There are lots of tips on redirecting in this thread http://www.bluehostforum.com/showthread.php?t=417

As far as Iīm concerned the redirect function on the Cpanel is working correctly.
If it really isnīt working and you were working according to the manual, you may want to try one of the other ways to redirect described in the thread I linked to.
