FTP account

I have someone who´s doing coding work for me and wants to ftp it to my server. I guess security wise that´s not the way to go or is it? I mean I want to have it sent to me via email, check the code and then I´ll upload it myself.

Just for future reference if I created an extra ftp account for someone can I restrict their actions to certain folders?

I used to have someone doing some coding for me and I created an extra ftp with limited access. So you shouldn't have any problems doing this aswell. Just make sure that you check what they are uploading. They might decide to upload something to your server and then use the space for their own use!
