How to edit

Hello Everyone
I have a new website page hosted with BH and I now want to do some editing. I have downloaded Nvu web design software and can get the web page to appear in the window but I cannot seem to make any changes to the page, it is as if I have no access to it. I have tried creating a different page and editing this with Nvu, to get used to the programme,and this seems to work fine, the trial page was not published to BH. I am totally new to this so I hope somebody can tell me what I am doing wrong as I am tearing my hair out here at this. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
