Default Anyone moved from DreamHost to bluehost? How's the transition?

Has anyone ever moved from DreamHost to bluehost? We have about 52 websites hosted at DreamHost and before we even begin to move them to any other host, we need to know that we won't have to recode our work. We it be as easy as doing file transfers and having the sites appear as they did on DreamHost?

The final straw was this newsletter that they sent to their customers. The newsletter was written by the co-founder and talked about -warning- his bowel movements. http://www.bluehostforum.com/showthread.php?t=8210

Also, for the past few months, they've had horrible customer service. Anytime we have a question about one of the many outages at one of our sites, all we get are lies or most of the time, after they fixed the problem 'we don't see anything wrong' replies. I know that all hosts have downtimes/service outages, but lying and beating around the bush really irritates me. We have a business to run and customers of our own to answer to.

Some of you may think that the newsletter thing is petty, but I'd like to make myself believe that the people handling our site and our customers' sites are professionals. I don't like to think that they're a bunch of goofs. That makes me cringe.

the thread is not available,.. wish to read that.

for migration of site.. it need lots of work.. and you can refer to my previous posting in my blog that list out the necessary works to do. i move my blog to another host.

Server Migration Task List as following:
    1. Backup database and server files.
    2. Upload files to BH server.
    3. Create new mysql database in BH server.
    4. Import database to BH mysql database created just now.
    5. Login to godaddy domain manager and change NameServer to BH NS.
    6. Wait for domain propagation.

by this the downtime is very minimun and unnotice, and both site have the same content and ready anytime. just the domain propagation pointing to new host, and new host will take over.

Somewhere between steps 3 and 5, you'll have to edit all your sites' config files that point to SQL servers to use Bluehosts's database and username prefixes too...

I also moved from Dreamhost. They are a TERRIBLE company. Completely God-dishonouring and the most unprofessional company that I've ever encountered.

Regarding the transition--I experienced very few problems. I would imagine that the transition for your average sites (forums, blogs, CMS's etc) are no real problem. But I'm sure that 52 sites are a little bit of a bigger problem... Perhaps you might want to contact Bluehost support directly.
