Thread: 403 Permission error

    Default 403 Permission error

I added my main domain to BH last year and finally getting around to adding a second domain (goferboy). I created the new ADD-on and FTP account to started to uploading folders and files.

Howerver, I note that I keep getting a 403 error when trying to access a image in a subfolder, like: / public_html / goferboy / Empire / (Current Folder)

I have WordPress installed for goferboy and that apears to be working fine. I just can't seem to upload files that can be viewed from any of the subfolders.

What am I doing wrong? I tried to search by "403 Permissions", the search kept dropping 403 and just searched "permissions".

try ftp in using the ftp account that you got when sign up bluehost.
If you login using addon domain ftp that you added, double check the root folder. And also from ftp client, check the folder property permission. Check on user permission.

Tried all those and same problem. Uploaded a new folder using the original FTP account and same problem. Strangly enough, I used the new domain account FTP for blogger to publish my existing blog to a subfolder called Oldblog and those pages load fine. But the images are contained in the folder I'm trying to manually upload and those are not displaying.
