Default I have one domain, now I want to add another one

Okay, I have a domain hosted with bluehost - lets say its www.domain1.com

I now want to host another domain - www.domain2.com

How can I do this??? A step by step guide would be really helpful.

    Thanks

p.s. is it easier to buy the new domian from bluehost or somewhere else?

    Default Addon Domain

Go to the Bluehost Control Panel. Scroll down to Addon Domains and click. Fill out the form. Add your domain name - the next two lines usually autofill. Add a strong password - with alphanumeric and characters. Press the Add button and your done.

Best of luck with your sites.

There's a subfolder for the domain under public_html. It should be named exactly/similar to the domain name.

    Hi,

As the the "addon" domain is in a subfolder of the root (public_html) does that mean:

    - that search engines will treat that site in a different way?

    - that the subfolder becomes the root for that site, and therefore is that the directory I'd have to install Wordpress for that site?

Thanks to anyone who gets back to me!

The engines will not treat it any differently, they will crawl it the same as your other site.

The above is correct, the subfolder becomes the domain2's root, and you need to install Wordpress if that is what you intend to use in that directory.

Looking at your server from the internet side, the /public_html/ folder is visible as domain1, and the /public_html/domain2/ folder is visible as domain2.

What you see in file system view is not the same as what shown externally by Apache.
