Default problem accessing new ftp user account

    Folks:

I'm installing some subdomains under my BH-hosted main domain, and establishing corresponding new ftp user accounts.

Everything looks reasonable in the ControlPanel "FTP Accounts" screen. After I hit "Create" I get a confirmation that the new user was created but my attempts to log-in to the new account fail using two different methods -- DreamWeaver and plain old Unix command-line "ftp". This failure occurs for two different new ftp user accounts.

I've double-checked the connection parameters by looking at the "Manual Settings" portion of the CP's "Configure FTP Client" display.

I've verified that ftp access for my existing, main domain is OK -- Yes, I can log-in using both methods. That would seem to rule out general problems such as fire-wall settings and so on. If one FTP connection between my clients and my BH domain works, than all should work, I think.

This would be explained if there is a delay between the time the new account is created in BH Control Panel and when the new account becomes active. Is there such a delay?

Or...what? Am I being incredibly stupid about something?

    TIA

    Henry

Default New FTP user account access problem--- Solved. D'oh!

    Folks

I _was_ being incredibly stupid: I needed to add the (original) domain name as a suffix to the user name and everything feel into place. Problem Solved!

Well, ummm, the docs could be better on this point.
